In partnership with the Ottawa Food Bank, BACH’s Community Foodbank provides emergency food to people in need. We aim to offer fresh and non-perishable food and supplies, including diapers, toiletries and cleaning supplies should donations come in. We also redistribute second-life produce weekly to neighbours in Banff/Ledbury. Ensuring dependable access to nutritious food is essential to our mission. 

FOODBANK & PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION

By appointment only: Call us at 613-739-5702 on Tuesday between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. to schedule your appointment for essential services such as foodbank. 


  • Food Bank services are Wednesdays from 1-4 & 5-7 p.m. 
  • Produce leftover Distribution is on Thursdays from 3 -5 p.m. (For residents of Banff/Ledbury)

Recycle, reuse and share: key ingredients to the Community Clothing Cupboard purpose. A meaningful proportion of the residents in the community live below the poverty line and access to appropriate, season-specific clothing is essential. View a list of our most urgently-needed items.

CLOTHING+ GIVEAWAYS

Call the Community House at 613-739-5792 to make an appointment to access our bi-weekly shopping model of new or gently used children, adolescent or adult clothing. Available on the second and fourth Thursday of every month 3-5pm. For residents of the Banff-Ledbury neighbourhood only due to limited donations.

We are committed to providing equitable programs that focus on prevention and early intervention to help lessen risk factors for local children & youth. Empowering young residents helps them build the foundations they need to create positive change for themselves, their families and their communities. 

AFTERSCHOOL LEARNING

HOMEWORK CLUB

 The Homework Club is an afterschool program that serves children aged 4-12, located right in the neighbourhood. Everyday participants are provided with age-appropriate educational support and given access to devices, Internet and resources needed to complete projects. Program leaders work together with students to support homework assignments and implement learning exercises that are tailored to a child’s needs. Activities include STEAM learning workshops, social play and engagement designed to promote literacy, math and other key component of learning. 


TUTORING

One-on-one tutoring is geared to any child and youth that needs extra help with their studies, equipping them with the tools they need to reach their academic goals. This important service provides both online and in-person support and aims to help students build their confidence and develop learning strategies. MINI SCHOLARS AFTERSCHOOL PLAY 

We offer a Afterschool program that is geared for children aged 4-5 years. This is offered Monday to Thurs afterschool in conjunction with the Children's Afterschool Program @ the Ledbury Pavilion.


SUMMER CAMP

For children 6-12 years of age living in Banff-Ledbury.  Monday to Thursday for 6 weeks in the summer.  Registration opens by mid-June.



YOUTH PROGRAMS

YOUTH COUNCIL is back!!

Be the voice of your community.  Prioritize the needs and build on community assets.  Learn how to conduct projects that are important to your peers.  We meet on once a week @6pm-7:15pm at the Community House.   To learn more about this program or about volunteer opportunities  please email Tommeson (Community Support Coordinator) tommesont@banffcomhouse.ca or Caasha (Child/Youth Supervisor) caashaa@banffcomhouse.ca  


YOUTH INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNTIES

Are you looking to acquire work experience?  Inquire about a possible paid internship with us in either children's programming, administration or essential services.  This capacity building opportunities are designed specifically to  youth living in the Banff/Ledbury Community eager to gain employable skills and certifications in the industry.  Reach out to Tommeson today by emailing him at tommesont@banffcomhouse.ca


YOUTH SOCIAL TIME

Come and engage in fun activities such as gaming tournaments, games, arts, sports

once a week @ 6pm and make some connections with your peers.


COMMUNITY SPORTS

In partnership with the City of Ottawa-I love to programs are being offered throughout the year.  Some examples of this are; I love to skate, I love to swim.  Also we offer soccer, baseball, and youth BASKETBALL when the weather is nice.  Stay tuned in! 

Connecting neighbours and creating opportunities for change at the neighbourhood level is fundamental to building a cohesive community.  Join Tenant Circle, community garden committee, or volunteer today.
