In partnership with the Ottawa Food Bank, BACH’s Community Foodbank provides emergency food to people in need. We offer fresh and non-perishable food and supplies, including diapers, toiletries and cleaning supplies. We also redistribute second-life produce weekly to neighbours in Banff/Ledbury. Ensuring that all have dependable access to nutritious food is essential to our mission.
By appointment only: Call us at 613-739-5702 on Tuesday between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. to schedule your appointment for essential services such as foodbank.
Recycle, reuse and share: key ingredients to the Community Clothing Cupboard purpose. A meaningful proportion of the residents in the community live below the poverty line and access to appropriate, season-specific clothing is essential. View a list of our most urgently-needed items.
Call the Community House at 613-739-5792 to make an appointment to access our bi-weekly shopping model of new or gently used children, adolescent or adult clothing. Available on the second and fourth Thursday of every month.
We are committed to providing equitable programs that focus on prevention and early intervention to help lessen risk factors for local children & youth. Empowering young residents helps them build the foundations they need to create positive change for themselves, their families and their communities.
HOMEWORK CLUB
The Homework Club is an afterschool program that serves children aged 7-13, located right in the neighbourhood. Everyday participants are provided with age-appropriate educational support and given access to devices, Internet and resources needed to complete projects. Program leaders work together with students to support homework assignments and implement learning exercises that are tailored to a child’s needs. Activities include STEAM learning workshops, social play and engagement designed to promote literacy, math and other key component of learning.
TUTORING
One-on-one tutoring is geared to any child and youth that needs extra help with their studies, equipping them with the tools they need to reach their academic goals. This important service provides both online and in-person support and aims to help students build their confidence and develop learning strategies. MINI SCHOLARS AFTERSCHOOL PLAY
We offer a Afterschool program that is geared for children aged 4-6 years. This is offered Monday to Thurs afterschool @ Community House.
SUMMER CAMP
For children 7-13 years of age living in Banff-Ledbury. Monday to Thursday for 6 weeks in the summer. Registration opens by mid-June.
YOUTH COUNCIL is back!!
Be the voice of your community. Prioritize the needs and build on community assets. Learn how to conduct projects that are important to your peers. We meet on Wednesdays @6pm-7pm at the Community House.
